“Longing for Peace” Video and Discussion Guide (May 2021)

“Longing for Peace” was created for the Global Week of Action Against Gun Violence 2021 Campaign.

The video examines why gender matters if we want to reduce gun violence and live in peace. The video raises four main themes:

1. Gender equality;

2. Gender-based violence;

3. Gender mainstreaming in small arms and light weapons controls;

4. Women’s participation in SALW control processes.

IANSA has also created a discussion guide with the purpose of facilitating discussions on issues raised in the video “Longing for Peace.” This guide provides a brief synopsis of the theme and a series of questions based on the video. It is hoped that the questions can facilitate discussions and assist in developing activities and advocacy in your country to reduce gun violence.
