Regional Workshop: Civil Society Advocacy Issues on Small Arms Control in Africa (15 October 2024)

IANSA hosted a hybrid workshop on small arms control implementation challenges, national and regional target setting, gender mainstreaming and youth involvement in small arms control in the African region. It also discussed synergies and complementarities between the UN Programme of Action on Small Arms and Light Weapons (UNPOA), the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) and the ECOWAS Convention on Small Arms. 

A publication was developed for this workshop, ‘Key Aspects of Small Arms and Light Weapons Trade Controls under ECOWAS and Complimentary International Instruments‘.
