War Child
The goal of War Child’s international work is clear. We want to help as many children as possible process their experiences from war and armed conflict. When children receive protection, education and psychosocial support, they can grow up to be strong individuals. Then, in the long run, they will be able to break the cycle of violence and create a peaceful future. One thing is for sure: children never belong in war!
In 17 war-torn countries, work is being done to ensure the needs and rights of children. Since 2018, we have worked in Sweden with a focus on children and young people who fled war. War Child was founded in the Netherlands in 1995 and has since worked to strengthen war-affected children and their quality of life and well-being.
OUR VISION
Children do not belong in war. All children have the right to grow up in peace, without violence and fear. Every child should be given the opportunity to find his or her strength and grow into the person he or she wants to be. War Child creates change. We do this by protecting children from violence and offering them psychosocial support and education. Our creative and involving methods unleash the children’s inner strength. Along the way, we inspire as many people as we can to fight for our cause.
