Red Nacional de Iniciativas Ciudadanas Por La Paz y Contra La Guerra (REDEPAZ)

REDEPAZ is the National Network of Citizen Initiatives for Peace and against War that articulates the experiences and practices that multiple social agents develop in the local, interlocal, regional and national dimensions. In this framework, we are an open stage for meeting and cooperation between people, groups, sectors and organizations that build peace; dynamic process for the strengthening and coordinated positioning of civil expressions of reconciliation; and a plural proposal of reflection and action for the mutual recognition as subjects of rights and the democratic transformation of our society. Redepaz is the result of the decision to articulate more than 400 delegates participating in the National Meeting of Initiatives against War and for Peace, held in November 1993.
  • Defeat the War (Santander)
  • Citizen Initiative for Peace (Bogotá)
  • Work Table for Life (Medellín)
  • Other

The processes of political negotiation of armed conflicts, carried out between the National and Cultural Government of the nation:

  • The Stream of Socialist Renewal
  • The Militias of Medellín

And the citizen processes called Pacts for life carried out in several cities.

We were born as an expression of disagreement with the violent resolution of conflicts and as a citizen strategy to deactivate the mechanisms of war from organized civil society.

Mission

Expand and consolidate the social movement for Peace as an initiative of citizen power, with a political, cultural and ethical sense, for the re-founding of Colombia.

Vision
That of a Colombia in peace with social justice, a democratic culture, respectful of Human Rights, Life and Diversity.
