El Instituto de Opinión Pública (IUDOP)

The Public Opinion Institute (IUDOP) is a research center that seeks to systematically monitor the opinion of the Salvadoran population. As an independent unit of the UCA Vice-rectory for Social Projection, the IUDOP works in conjunction with other instances of the university.

The IUDOP addresses public opinion on the social, political, economic and cultural situation of the country with scientific rigor. In this sense, the IUDOP studies and analyzes the various social phenomena that affect El Salvador and Central America.

The objectives are to investigate and examine the Salvadoran and Central American social reality through academic, objective and independent studies. Give systematic follow-up, with scientific methods, to the social events that take place in Central America.

Conduct periodic research on various areas of Salvadoran social reality with special emphasis on public opinion.

Contribute to the processes of democratization, reconciliation and social development through the dissemination of knowledge about the national and Central American reality.

Articulate proposals based on research and social studies to transform and favor the living conditions of citizens.

Offer up-to-date information and objective data for the documentation and research tasks of the university and interested institutions.

Collaborate with academic institutions, university research centers, research centers, development agencies and governmental and non-governmental organizations, in the preparation, design and execution of evaluation and research projects.
