Gender Inclusion in the Third and Fourth Review Conferences of the UN Programme of Action on Small Arms and Light Weapons (December 2024)

IANSA has prepared a factsheet contrasting the gender inclusion in the Third and Fourth Review Conferences on the UN Progamme of Action on Small Arms (RevCon3 and RevCon4). This factsheet focuses on the significant advancements and inclusive language on gender, women, girls, LGBTQIA+, survivors in the RevCon4 outcome documents in contrast to Third Review Conference on the UNPoA (RevCon3) in 2018. The RevCon4 outcome report addresses the persistent barriers to the meaningful representation and participation of women in leadership roles including in community safety groups, violence reduction, and peacebuilding, includes survivor-centered language in advocating for social safety nets for victims of SALW violence and more.
