Women’s Participation in Small Arms Control and Peace and Security Initiatives (March 2021)



It is now a widely accepted premise that women must be full and equal participants in arms control and peace and security initiatives. Yet in practice, this is far from being implemented. While there has been some progress, small arms control initiatives remain largely a male domain at all levels, from community consultations to international diplomacy to the technical aspects of ammunition and weapons management. IANSA prioritizes the participation of women in small arms control and peace and security initiatives, access our briefing paper below.
