La Fundación Comunidad Esperanza y Justicia Internacional (FUNCEJI)

On September 12, 2004, at the initiative of its founder Cristhian Manuel Jiménez, together with a group of students from the “Bachelor of Diplomacy and International Services” from the Universidad Católica Santo Domingo (UCSD) , they conceived the Esperanza Community and International Justice , as an NGO, that fights for the respect of human rights. With the passage of time and the growth of the scope of operations to carry out our purposes, we decided to expand our presence and legally incorporate the organization, as described in Law 122-05 on Non-Profit Associations and its amendments.

We are an institution committed to the education and promotion of human rights in the Dominican Republic and aim to be a leading civil society organization in the Dominican Republic in the education and promotion of Human Rights with international recognition.

Our main goals are to:

  1. Educate and Promote human rights in the Dominican Republic.
  2. Promote a generation of young Dominican leaders with responsibility with our world and a spirit of cooperation.
  3. Ensure that the Dominican State fulfills its role of guaranteeing the fundamental rights of individuals living in the Dominican Republic.
