WILPF is women’s organization that has been working for peace, social justice and non-violence around the world for precisely 105 years. It is the oldest NGO of women for peace in the world. WILPF was created in April 1915 in The Hague in the Netherlands by 1136 women of different cultures and languages, united to say “NO” to war and all its consequences, by setting up a movement of women peacemakers . This movement had the merit of contributing to the end of the First World War. WILPF has national chapters on all continents, an international secretariat based in Geneva and an office in News York, focused on the work of the United Nations.
