CEPREV’s work is carried out in several areas: community intervention to pacify 36 neighborhoods in districts IV, V, VI of the capital and the municipality of Tipitapa, affected by intrafamily and youth violence, training of multipliers in didactic manuals prepared by CEPREV, aimed at teachers, police, state officials and civil society, community and religious leaders, journalists and journalism students, the promotion of local and regional networks, the integration of violence prevention efforts in Central America, research and systematization.

CEPREV gives workshops, trainings, conferences and talks, which have benefited some 50,000 people to date in Nicaragua and other Central and South American countries. All this effort has had a high impact on the improvement of the quality of education and on the reduction of intrafamily violence, on the increase of the quality of the services of attention to victims and prevention of violence in the state and civil society organizations. There has also been an impact on the broader awareness of the causes and consequences of all forms of violence.

Mission:

CEPREV’s work is aimed at building a culture of peace.
