Instituto de Ecologia Politica (IEP)
Our work has been developed through education for sustainability, research, strengthening of civil society, education and complaint campaigns, legal actions in defense of the environment and people; the creation of strategic alliances and the development of public policies that can guarantee the right to live in a healthy environment.
Currently, the IEP is directing its efforts to promote the transition towards 100% renewable energy in Chile and Latin America , convinced that this transition will only be possible together with the citizens. Thus, four lines of work are currently being developed that strengthen and complement each other to prepare the ground for said transition.
For the development of the work of our organization we have defined four transversal axes:
- Education for sustainability.
- Environmental justice.
- Construction of environmental citizenship.
- Globalization, trade and the environment.
The education for sustainability as an essential platform for the creation of environmental awareness , is addressed by the IEP in their daily work, with community ecoclubs and advice. Also in the participation of research agreements with academic entities. The IEP has been the promoter, founder, co-founder and active member of different networks, societies and groups, local and international.
