Instituto Latinoamericano de Seguridad y Democracia (ILSED)

The Latin American Institute for Security and Democracy (ILSED) is a foundation that was born in 2004 with the mission of contributing to the consolidation and strengthening of the rule of law in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean through work in specific related fields to security, intelligence and defense policy.

To fulfill its institutional mission, ILSED develops training, research, dissemination and technical support activities with the objectives of having an impact on public policies and supporting the transformation processes of its areas of interest.

From various spheres, ILSED seeks to produce knowledge and technical know-how to make transparent and democratize the axes related to security, intelligence and defense, in tune with the current demands of a globalized society.

Goals

• Provide technical assistance to provincial, national and international agencies and agencies on our work areas.

• Promote and develop studies and recommendations on the transformation processes of public security, intelligence and defense systems with the aim of influencing the implementation of democratic public policies.

• Contribute to professionalize the public management of democratic security, defense and intelligence through the training of specialists committed to the fundamental rights of people and opposition to all forms of authoritarianism and institutional violence.

• Disseminate and disseminate knowledge through the preparation and publication of documents related to the areas and work programs
